In this modern era due to the advances in technologies daily a large type of attacks are being done over social media sites, email's etc. So to protect yourself follow these simple techniques.

1. Antivirus:
  Antivirus comes first as it protects you not only from virus that are in your system but also that are present in the internet. If you can afford always use a premium end licensed version. If you cant afford one use home trial version of antivirus soft like avast etc.

2. Page advisor:
    If possible try to install these add-ons/ plugins as they help you in judging and assists you in nowing the credibility, trustworthiness, its reliability etc. In addition to these it also provides you the Niche details i.e the content the site really writes/publishes about.

3. Emails:
     If you receive an email from unknown source stating that you have recieved/won something, never click on those links as they may land you upon the pages either containing viruses or which try to know your financial details.

 

4. Phishing:

      This type of attack is generally done through social networking sites. The attacker sends you a spammy link stating that its an awesome game and asks you to check it out. When you try to open it, it asks you to login into your gmail or facebook page and the landing page is similar to that of the facebook and other sites in layout and design. So don’t fall for those spammy links easily.

5. Cookies & Passwords:

6. History & Cache

   Delete your history and cache as frequently as possible. Try to browse using only private mode as more as possible.
